The Gold Dust Arena Committee islooking for two young women, single or married, to try out for Ms. Gold Dust Queen (age 15-24) and Junior Queen (age 10-14). Applicants must live within 50 miles of Idaho City.

 

If you are interested in becoming the Queen or Junior Queen, enclosed you will find Contest Rules, Pageant Application, Guidelines and Liability Release that you will need regarding the speaking, horsemanship and modeling section of the pageant.  The pageant will be July 20 and 21 and will include speaking, modeling, and riding.  Applications must be postmarked by July 2, 2007.  As a contestant, you will be required to give a 2-3 minute speech on the topic “Rodeo Fun”.  You will be required to model a dressy western outfit of your choice. For horsemanship, you will be required to do a pattern and a run-in on your own horse, and a pattern on a draw horse, plus a flag presentation.

 

If chosen, you will be very busy during the spring and summer months traveling to various speaking and rodeo events that you will be required to attend.  You will be required to attend all Gold Dust Rodeo board meetings.  You must be able to provide transportation for you and your horse.  As a contestant, you must agree to all rules and regulations and to sigh all consents and waivers of liability.  Please entertain the possibility of competing for this coveted title as the year  will be fun and rewarding.
