Gold Dust
Rodeo Queen’s Contract and Guidelines
During
your reign as the Gold Dust Rodeo Queen, you will be the “Ambassador” for
the Gold Dust Rodeo and will be expected to portray the highest of moral standards
and show the ideals of womanhood. Appearance shall reflect being “on the job”
at all times, setting an example beyond reproach.
The
Queen will be expected to uphold the proper lady-like image of a Rodeo
Queen. The use of inappropriate behavior
and/or language will not be tolerated while representing the Gold Dust Rodeo.
The
Queen will be required to provide herself with horse and transpiration suitable
for the activities that she will be asked to participate in. Insurance for herself, vehicle, and trailer
will be required.
As
queen you will be expected to attend all Gold Dust Rodeo designated events,
this includes all scheduled board meetings, unless there is an emergency or
illness. Any requests for not attending
scheduled events must be approved by the Queen Director. Duties begin in August following your
coronation, are scheduled until the following next years coronation. Also, you will be expected to help at the
rodeo the summer following your reign, by carrying a flag for the Grand Entry
in both Saturday and Sunday performances.
As
Queen, you will be expected to wear designated rodeo clothing and accessories
when attending any event representing the Gold Dust Rodeo.
It
shall be the responsibility of the Queen to keep herself neat, clean, and well
groomed at all times. Clothing must be
cleaned and pressed and she must be in Queen Attire at each event, meeting, or
appointment. Horse and tack shall be
presentable and in proper working order at all times.
If
a Gold Dust Rodeo Queen continues to apply and represent other rodeo
associations after her Gold Dust Rodeo reign is fulfilled, she may not solicit
services, organizations or businesses in
Drinking of alcoholic beverages or use of
drugs will not be permitted
while you are representing the Gold Dust Rodeo Association at designated
activities. Smoking of tobacco is not
prohibited, but will not be permitted while participating at a designated
function.
If
at any time you are observed violating any of these rules by the Gold Dust
Rodeo Queen Director, members of the Board of Directors, or any of the Gold
Dust Arena Committee general membership, you will be banned from participation
in the next event: the second violation will result in your dismissal as the
Queen or Junior Queen of the Gold Dust Rodeo. At this time, the runner-up will be asked to
assume the duties of the Queen/Junior Queen.
If there is no runner-up the Gold Dust Rodeo advisor and the Board
of Directors reserve the right to either appoint a queen or contact the past
queen until a queen is found or forgo a queen for the region.
The
following is the property of the
Gold Dust Rodeo Committee and will be returned in good condition within 10 days
of completion of your reign or immediately upon dismissal

The
dates of the reign as Gold Dust Rodeo Queen/Teen Queen will be the Sunday
of coronation until the following year’s coronation.
I
_________________________________________have read the above rules in their
entirety and I do agree to abide by these rules of the Gold Dust Rodeo Association
for the entire duration of my reign should I be chosen as Queen or Teen Queen.
